The Linda Vista Complex includes two (2) booster pump stations, one pumping to the 400 Zone, and one pumping to the 555 Zone. It was constructed in 1935, and was partially improved in 2011 (Phase 1). AKM provided design, engineering services during construction of the facility, construction management, and inspection. The Phase 2 project, completed by AKM, included the following work:
- Replacement of existing booster pumps and motors (11 new pumps and motors) – 2 – 1200 gpm, 100 HP and 3 – 2350 gpm, 200 HP pumps for the 400 Zone Pump Station; 6 – 2300 gpm, 300 HP pumps for the 555 Zone Pump Station
- Replacement of existing MCC (2 new 4,000 amp, 480 volt, 3 phase MCC – one for each booster station)
- New 480 volt electrical services
- New electrical building (1950 square foot building to house MCC, CFD’s, control panel, and SCADA network communications cabinet)
- Modifications to main access gate from Tustin Avenue (161 linear feet of masonry wall)
- Replacement of on-site security system camera system (2 new cameras mounted on 50 foot high steel poles)
- Modification of existing NIU cabinet located adjacent to BPS (removal of PLC and OIT, new OIT, new PoE injectors)
- Installation of new Main Control Panel in new electrical building (90”x72”x24” new ventilated enclosure with new PLC, OIT, UPS, Et
- hernet switch, relays, terminal blocks, supplies)
- Upgrade of existing emergency power system (replacement of switchboard “EMP” and MCC “GB”; 480V-12kV step-up transformer, new 800 amp portable generator connection box)
- Pressure Reducing Station 34 Modifications
- Surge Tank Replacement (10,000 gallon tank for 555 Zone; 2,500 gallon tank for 400 Zone)
